  • The first golf club in England was set up in Blackheath in 1608.

  • Greenwich is home to the world’s largest tea clipper, the Cutty Sark. The ship caught fire in 2007 but has since been restored.
  • Greenwich was one the six host boroughs of the London 2012 Olympic Games and hosted 34 events at three venues. Greenwich Park, The Royal Artillery Barracks and the North Greenwich Arena.
